Internet Profile: DJ REACH

World famous DJ Reach is one of the most internet connected music men around. Reach actually takes song requests via Twitter while he’s spinning! He’s often featured on Last Call with Carson Daly and threw down a wild Internet Week party at Tenjune last night. He was the DJ of choice at the Pepsico Inaugural bash at La Esquina this year for Barack Obama. Reach is the house DJ for Marquee and Tao Las Vegas as well as sitting weekly at Brother Jimmy’s, Greenhouse and many other hot spots in and out of New York City. Last week Reach debuted this new YouTube video and as someone who occasionally rocks with him, it’s a pretty accurate depiction of Reach-style nightlife.
Kelly Will: What’s your favorite part of Twitter?
DJ Reach: Being able to share information from the mundane to informative to
inspirational with my friends, fans, and even total strangers.
KW: Have you gotten any crazy fan Tweets?
R: I thought it was hard enough having people coming up to me out of
crowds of 2,000 screaming party-goers at a place like Tao Las Vegas,
but now they’re blowing up my phone with requests on Twitter as well!
KW: Who are the most requested artists?
R: I get more requests for the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, MGMT, and Kid
Cudi then you could ever imagine.
KW: Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
R: Everyone from Perez to my buddy Talib Kweli. I love to observe
the way others tweet to communicate with the masses. Take Diddy for
example, he sets the bar for the best way to use Twitter to send a
positive message and words of inspiration to the masses.
KW: How does Twitter help you market your company?
R: By giving people an up-to-the-minute play-by-play of what we are doing,
where we are going and where we have just been. It’s a great way to test market certain ideas without any expense to our budget during this rough economy.
KW: What is the main way you communicate with your nightclub clients? Text
message…email…telephone?
R: Hands down text message on my phone.
KW: How many hours a day are you online?
R: If it weren’t for my Blackberry, never, but because of it, nonstop.
