Twitter-Based Businesses on Parade for Internet Week 2009
Ultra Light Startups gave Twitter-Based businesses owners a chance to strut their stuff for Internet Week 2009 in front of a crowd of more than 130 people Thursday night.
About 25 business owners got 60-SECONDS EACH to show the crowd they had what it takes to bring their Twitter-Based Business models to the next level.
Graham Lawlor, founder of Ultra Light Startups says giving these entrepreneurs a chance to pitch in front of a crowd of people is a very valuable experience. It helps them refine critical presentation skills while facilitating networking with fellow entrepreneurs.
During each presentation, owners present stats about their sites including monthly hit counts, cost to develop and company head counts. Then they get questions from the organizers or the group about their business models, how they intend to move forward and how they plan to monetize their sites.
The business models were very diverse and included sites for gadgets, law students, blog builders, sports fans and even one for making people into Rock Stars!
At last count, organizers reported that there are currently 166 Twitter-Based businesses across the world.
