Swine Flu, Xzibit Meme, and Adult Toys = Ignite NYC 2009

Ignite NYC is an event where presenters get only 5 minutes and only 20 slides to present their topic, research, product, or cool thought. This years Ignite NYC was hosted at New World Stages on 50th st and played host to a slew of presenters talking about everything from a fake swine flu on Twitter account, tips for building better adult toys, SMS and Africa, and the ever popular Xzibit Yo Dawg Meme. This is really a good look on how people need to be 100% clear on their topics when doing a presentation. People don’t want to see to many words on Power Point slides. They want visuals! A well thought out presentation is about capturing your audiences ear and then showing them the visuals that will want to make them listen even more.
Check out this Ignite NYC presentation from Baratunde Thurston as he talks about being @the_swing_flu on Twitter and how it taught him everything he needed to know about social media. Hit the comments and let us know what you would talk about if you only had 20 slides and 5 minutes to get your point across.
